Lee County wants us to remove the outside deck from Red’s Good Food & Spirits.

The County has two arguments against allowing the deck to stay:

(1) The County claims we need more parking. However, the seating capacity remains the same. We eliminated seating inside the restaurant to add seating outside. We were granted the parking for the number of seats that are currently on the premises. In fact, the County agrees that if we move those seats back into the building, the parking will be sufficient.

(2) The County claims that the deck is "injurious to the neighborhood" (doesn't "fit" in the neighborhood) If you have visited our establishment, you know there is concrete wall more than 6 feet tall along the property line. There are commercial businesses to the right and the left. We remain conscious of our neighbors and we want to be beneficial to the area. We are interested in sharing our unique atmosphere with our patrons. We know that many people gravitate to the outside—it is Florida, after all.

Help us show the County that they are imposing the will of the bureaucrats, not the will of the people.
